AOS Governance Standard — Deterministic Verification for Autonomous AI Agents
AOS Governance is an open standard that provides a deterministic verification layer between AI agent intent and execution. It governs autonomous agents using code-based constitutional checks, not prompts. The standard implements a verifiable safety pipeline: every agent action is evaluated before execution, verified against a secure and verifiable policy framework by a deterministic script, and either permitted with an immutable audit log entry or blocked with a specific denial reason.
The AOS Constitution defines five governing principles: Humanitarian Purpose, the Verification Gate, User Sovereignty, the Kill Switch, and Transparency. All agent reasoning is logged to an immutable ledger with cryptographic hashing (AOS Attest). The governance layer operates at the application level, independent of the AI model provider.
Built by Salvatore Systems, a Connecticut-based technology firm. The project maintains 99 pending patent filings with the USPTO and has been independently validated through a hostile security audit by both Anthropic (Claude) and OpenAI (ChatGPT) on February 5, 2026.
